Most private paediatric clinics in Singapore keep weekday morning and evening sessions, then close overnight. If a child spikes a fever at 1am, the useful question is not “which GP is 24 hours?” — it is which kind of after-hours care you actually need.

What “24-hour clinic” usually means

True 24-hour paediatric care in Singapore is almost always a children’s emergency department, not a neighbourhood clinic with overnight walk-in slots. Hospital children’s emergency units stay open every day, including public holidays, for trauma, breathing difficulty, seizures, dehydration, and other urgent problems.

A few public urgent-care clinics sit between a regular paediatrician and the emergency department. They take walk-ins for milder acute illness in the afternoon and evening, then close before midnight. They are useful, but they are not 24-hour.

24-hour option in this directory

NUH Children’s Emergency is listed as open 24 hours every day at the National University Hospital main building. It is for children who need emergency assessment — not routine vaccinations or a next-day review of a mild cold.

Children’s emergency departments stay open overnight; most private clinics do not.

After-hours care that is not 24-hour

NUH Children’s Urgent Care Clinic (Bukit Panjang) is a walk-in clinic for children and adolescents up to 18 with minor acute conditions. It is open daily, including public holidays, from 2pm to 10pm, with last registration at 8pm — or earlier if the clinic is overcrowded.

  • Use a regular paediatric clinic during listed morning or evening sessions for non-urgent illness.
  • Use urgent care in the afternoon or evening for milder problems that still need same-day review.
  • Use children’s emergency for severe, rapidly worsening, or after-midnight illness.

How to check who is open right now

Hours change, and last-registration cut-offs are often 30–60 minutes before closing. Use the open now filter on Little Buddy to see which listed clinics are currently in session, then call before you leave. If nothing nearby is open, the 24-hour children’s emergency remains the fallback.

When to skip the wait and go to emergency

This directory cannot triage a child. If breathing is hard, the child is unusually drowsy or inconsolable, there is a serious injury, repeated vomiting with no fluids staying down, or you are simply worried that something is badly wrong, go to children’s emergency or call 995. Do not wait for a morning clinic session.

Frequently asked questions

Are there 24-hour private paediatric clinics in Singapore?

Very few, if any, private neighbourhood paediatric clinics stay open overnight. After-hours care is usually a hospital children’s emergency department, or an urgent-care clinic with evening hours.

Is NUH Children’s Urgent Care the same as 24-hour emergency?

No. The Bukit Panjang urgent-care clinic is a walk-in service for minor acute conditions, typically 2pm–10pm daily. NUH Children’s Emergency is the 24-hour department for more serious problems.

Can I use the directory to find a clinic open at midnight?

Yes. Filter for clinics open now. If the list is empty, the 24-hour children’s emergency listing is the one that remains available overnight.

Should I call before going after hours?

Yes. Even 24-hour departments can be crowded, and urgent-care clinics close registration early when they are full. A quick call saves a wasted trip.

Need a clinic now?
